To support the investigation of cell behavior in vitro and in vivo, Trevigen offers its Cultrex® line of extracellular matrix proteins. Products include a full range of matrices and purified proteins including Basement Membrane Matrix, Laminin I, Collagen I, Collagen IV, Vitronectin, and Fibronectin. Select Cultrex® products undergo additional qualification for use in 3D cultures or stem cell cultures. Trevigen has initiated state of the art quality, sterility, infectious agent testing and employs the most stringent and rigorous endotoxin specifications in our industry.

    3D cell cultures are in vitro cell culture models where cells are suspended in an environment to facilitate growth in all three dimensions. Within tissues, the extracellular matrix (ECM) provides structural and functional organization of resident cells. 3D culture models recapitulate cell-ECM and cell-cell interactions to promote in vivo-like self assembly of cells in vitro to mimic their emanating tissue. Trevigen 3D culture qualified products undergo rigorous 3D testing so that you can be confident that the product will work for your 3D culture application.

    • Cultrex® BME

      Cultrex® BME (9)

      Cultrex® Basement Membrane Extract (BME), Trevigen's Basement Membrane Matrix, is a soluble form of basement membrane purified from Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm (EHS) tumor. The matrix gels at 37 °C to form a reconstituted basement membrane. The major components of BME include laminin, collagen IV, entactin, and heparan sulfate proteoglycan. BME can be used in multiple applications, under a variety of cell culture conditions, for maintaining growth or promoting differentiation of primary endothelial, epithelial, smooth muscle and stem cells. BME can also be utilized in cell attachment, neurite outgrowth, angiogenesis, in vitro cell invasion and in vivo tumorigenicity assays. Trevigen has different BME formulations to provide superior alternatives to Matrigel® or Geltrex®.

These proteins for coating include Mouse Reduced Growth Factor Basement Membrane Matrix, Mouse Laminin I, Human Fibronectin, and Human Vitronectin. Each of these proteins was qualified in feeder-free cell culture to support human stem cells in the undifferentiated state for multiple passages.
