Cell Based Assays
Trevigen offers several different types of standardized cell-based assay for rapid and reproducible quantification of cell behaviors. Both 2D and 3D assays have been developed for angiogenesis, vascular permeability, cell migration, cell invasion, cell proliferation and cell viability. For angiogenesis, in vitro assays are designed to measure tube formation and endothelial cell invasion; these kits have been validated using the commonly used HUVEC model. The Directed In Vivo Angiogenesis Assay (DIVAA™) quantifies angiogenesis in vivo. In vitro assays have also been developed for evaluating cell migration, cell invasion, spheroid proliferation and spheroid invasion. Trevigen cell-based assays are rapid, reliable and reproducible.

Angiogenesis and Vascular Integrity Assays (15)Explore AllAngiogenesis is the process by which new capillaries arise from pre-existing vasculature. Pathogenic angiogenesis is a common feature of rheumatoid arthritis, age-related macular degeneration, atherosclerosis and cancer. Cost-effective assays are important tools in the development of new therapeutic strategies to modulate neovascularization. Trevigen has developed several standardized assays for quantifying angiogenesis including Endothelial Invasion Assays, Tube Formation Assays, and Directed In Vivo Angiogenesis Assays (DIVAA).
Cell Migration Assays (1)Trevigen’s Cultrex® Cell Migration Assays were created in an effort to accelerate the screening process for compounds that influence chemotaxis, which is a fundamental component of angiogenesis in embryonic development, immune responses, and wound healing. These assays offer a flexible, standardized, multi-well format for quantitating the degree to which cells migrate in vitro in response to chemoattractants in the presence of inhibitors or stimulants.
Cell Invasion Assays (17)Trevigen’s Cultrex® Cell Invasion Assays were originally created in an effort to accelerate the screening process for compounds that influence cellular invasion through extracellular matrices, which is fundamental to angiogenesis, embryonic development, immune responses, and tumor cell metastasis. To provide a platform for the analysis of responses to chemokines, toxins, drugs and other analytes of interest, assays have been developed in 24 and 96 well formats.Explore All
Spheroid Assays (7)The need for more complete and physiologically predictive cancer growth and invasion models has driven the development of the 3D Spheroid Assays. There is growing evidence that tumor cell aggregates or spheroids are more representative of tumors in vivo, and they exhibit several physiological traits including similar morphology, the formation of cell-cell bonds, decreased proliferation rates, increased cell survival, tumor dormancy, and a hypoxic core. Applying this model to 3D culture proliferation and invasion assays provides a more physiological approach for assessing tumor growth and invasion.Explore All
